Is there any follow-up available
for
after the retreat?

One of the many things that I attempt to accomplish in a retreat is to build group camaraderie and group energy, so I will do anything I can to do that during our time together to take us to the our highest potential possible as individuals through the accessing and nurturing of our group energy.

As part of your fee, for the next two months after the conclusion of the retreat, you will be invited to an exclusive teleconference once a month, which will enable you to get your questions answered, share your good news with your fellow writers, etc.

The option of working with me on a direct/individual basis will also be made available only to graduates of this retreat.

IT ALL SOUNDS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE.

I know this may sound crazy to someone who has never done this before. However, I have led thousands to accomplish their literary dreams and aspirations. And I have done this with people from all walks of life, from Moms to millionaires, from business tycoons to beachcombers, from the highly educated to those only with high school degrees, from the very young to the very mature.

I have done this so many times before that I know what you may be thinking right now. In fact, I can just hear your overwhelming, little judgmental inner voice, that has impeded yourself so many times, just screaming out once again:

Just stop right there. Nothing could be further from the truth. In fact, the system I will be introducing you to is something I have employed thousands of times, and nothing like what you may be imagining is ever going to happen.

Just because you haven’t been able to do this on your own and by yourself, doesn’t mean that a mentor, schooled at the highest of levels in working with aspiring authors for over a quarter of a century, taking you by the hand and guiding you every step of the way and providing you with all of the insights and encouragement you need, at the exact time you need them, that you won’t be able to do it this time around.

Once fully released, the passion-packed author within all of us writes at an average of 1500 words an hour, and I know both how to get you there and get you way past there. I don’t care if you have never written more than 100 words an hour. By following my methods you  will get you there, and I will get you there in a couple of hours, and from there your book will flow out of you, smoothly, easily, passionately.

Multiply that by writing eight hours a day and then by eight days, and well, you see what I am talking about.

One week and one day – EIGHT DAYS - is all you need for your literary dreams to come true.

WHERE THE FOUNDATION OF MY METHOD BEGAN

When I was an aspiring author, I was literally obsessed with getting a book written, sold and then doing what I loved to do, writing, full-time.

To try and accomplish this task, I followed the conventional path and I did everything I was told to do. I got a university degree in writing. I read every book on writing and publishing I could find. I sought the guidance of every author I knew and nothing made sense, and instead appeared to be based upon, at best, superstition.

No one, absolutely no one, seemed to have the clear, concise methodology that I sought on writing and publishing, the two plus two equals four formula that every other profession seemed to have and which I so desperately sought.

All I kept hearing over and over again until I felt it was literally going to make me sick was that "I was too young to be an author," that "I just had to wait and pay my dues," that "I was not educated enough, talented enough" – you catch my drift.

Sound familiar?

"Too young, too old, not talented enough, you have to be lucky, you have to know someone to get published, it takes years to write a book, it’s really, really hard and hardly anyone gets published, let alone makes any money at doing it."

Bull!

From my perspective, life just doesn’t work that way, unless you want it to or believe that it has to, of course.

No, I always firmly believed that we are blessed with dreams and desires and not plagued by them. And that being the case, if we are blessed by them, then the route we need to lead them is already there for us, oftentimes right before our eyes, as well.

So after exhausting my efforts through several years of putting into play each and every orthodox method I heard about, read, or which was taught to me, and getting literally nowhere, I came to the stark, yet temporarily depressing realization that no one had yet discovered the natural, divine route which had been laid for all of us to follow, to successfully, joyfully succeed with the writing of our books and getting them published.

As a result, that’s what I asked for and two nights later my request was answered by a vision that literally woke me up in the middle of the night.

Desperate, and out of so-called orthodox alternatives to continue to try, I immediately put into play what I saw in the vision. Six weeks later my first book sold to the third-largest publisher in the world, for an amount equivalent to three times my yearly salary, enabling me to resign from my job and take to my beloved writing for good.

Then something happened I could have never expected…

I became a published author.

Becoming a published author at way below the age anyone thought to be possible, the release of my first book landed me more than the usual amount of media attention. Right then and there, I came to the astounding realization that nearly everyone, and possibly everybody, at one time or another in their lives, wanted to write a book.

How did I know?

I was able to verify this by the number of phone calls that began to pour into my home (number since unlisted).

In response to the pleas of so many frustrated, aspiring authors, and as a way of sharing what had been shared with me, I decided to offer a few courses on writing and publishing, highlighting what I had discovered for myself, at a few local colleges and universities. However, the fees that I had to charge to cover my time were substantial, but that didn’t slow anybody down. In fact, I was still called to offer my guidance to over 50,000 students at colleges and universities.

All of this began rolling out of control over a quarter of a century ago, and I wound up giving over 3,500 lecture appearances on what has become known, in the industry as, The Tom Bird Method™, making me the #1 nationally recognized presenter of writing and publishing lectures on college and university campuses in the US.

And even though that makes me feel fantastic, I feel blessed to be able to help thousands of entrepreneurs, aspiring authors, fulfill their literary aspirations and create absolutely new destinies for themselves while using their books as the foundation for the massive changes in their lives.

What about editing or revising, when do we do that?

I’m going to show you how to do it. You may actually begin doing it at the retreat. I will show you how to get the best in the business to do it for you at a reasonable price.

What if I finish my book before the end of the eight days?

Since The Write Your Book in Eight Days Retreat is geared toward the completion of a 80,000-word manuscript and since many of those who attend one of my retreats end up writing a book shorter than that, you finishing your book in less time would not be unusual.

If that becomes the case, you will be offered two alternatives.

First, you will be given the opportunity to begin work on your next book and potentially finish it, as well, before the end of the eight days.

Or, two, you will be offered the opportunity to begin work on the revision of the book you completed during the retreat.

What about homework?

By design, you will be expected to write one hour each evening on your own. This will enable you to complete an additional 1500 words a day as well as begin to nurture an independence in you, in regard to your writing, for when you return home. Besides that, you will only be expected to put in one hour of additional homework.

What if I am unable to complete the allotted number of words to be written each day?

You will be offered EVERYTHING you need to average at least 1500 words an hour, even if you have never written 500 words an hour or even less. I am going to take care of everything for you to make sure this happens, meals that feed your spirit and all of the inspiration to keep your heart and mind focused on this target. I will make sure that you enter the Author Within state, where the words just pour out of you. This is a magical state, and if you have never experienced it before, these eight days are going to be an even more exciting journey for you. If you have experienced this state before, I am going to show you how to access the Author Within state more effectively and faster than you ever thought possible. However, if some reason you fell short of your daily word quota, you would only be expected to make up the difference in your after class hours.

Will I be required to bring my laptop to the retreat?

No, you will not be required to write on a laptop. However, it would be beneficial if you did bring one along, especially if you prefer to write on a computer and for the contacting of literary agents.

Are payment plans available?

Payment plans are available as long as the full fee for a retreat is paid in within ten days of the beginning of it.

What is your cancellation policy?

All monies paid for a retreat are non-refundable. They can, however, be either transferred just once, within one year of time, to an upcoming retreat as long I am informed of your desire to do so by no later than ten days prior to the beginning of a retreat or be applied toward the purchase of my products or services.

Why isn’t the hotel included with the fee for the retreat?

People attending my retreats have different budgets, tastes, and real-life situations, which are, at times, difficult to address as a whole. As a result, I felt it would be best for you to choose your own accommodations which also keeps the price of the retreat down. A list of local options for lodging is available.

Enabling you to choose your own accommodations also offers you the necessary freedom to get away from your writing in the way that you choose and to recharge your batteries for the next day.

Are there any restrictions I need to be made aware of in regard to the retreat?

It is sincerely in your best interest to avoid the consumption of caffeine before each session. Why? Because the effect of caffeine is completely the opposite of where I will be leading you to go in setting the stage with your writing. You can have as much of your beloved coffee as you want, though, after you are done with each session.

What about book promotion? Is that covered in the retreat?

It is essential that you become well-versed in this topic, however, the information you need to know comprises a complete separate entity. Thank God for both of us that I have the top authorities in book promotion in my corner.

During the retreat I will cover what options these invaluable sources have made available to my students.
